District IV Language and Cultural Camps

District IV provides financial support and camperships to four language and cultural camps.

Trollfjorden Language and Cultural Camp

A Norwegian Cultural Experience on the shores of Lake Metigoshe
2023 camp cancelled due to insufficient registration
Plan for next year!  2024 Camp is June 6th-9th.

Bjørnetann Language and Cultural Camp

Location: the Montana mountains
All ages, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

Trollhaugen Language Arts and Cultural Camp

Location – Deer Valley Meadows Camp (near Alix, Alberta)
When – August 13-19, 2023
Celebrating Trollhaugen’s 50th anniversary
Fiddlers and folkdancers from Norway!
All ages, family participation
Registrations accepted until May 31. Forms available from troll.registrar@gmail.com

Skogfjorden Language Camp (MN)

More Information

Operated by Concordia University
Located outside Bemidji, MN.
Ages 7-18, sessions of 1, 2 and 4 weeks.

Many lodges grant camperships to children and grandchildren of lodge members. District 4 also awards Skogfjorden camperships to Sons of Norway Junior Lodge members or children and grandchildren of members.  The amount of the campership varies each year depending on funding.

Submit copy of Skogfjorden application form to local lodge by February 1st of each year for consideration.

Scandia Camp Mendocino (CA)

When: June 10-17
Featuring the dances and music from Hallingdal in Norway and Föllinge in Sweden
